The memories live on in the boxes…
Wilson rummages frantically through the boxes he keeps in the attic. His desperation grows as he finishes searching box after box, unable to find what he seeks. Finally, he lets out a sigh of relief. He lifts up his left hand in triumph. In it is an old brass candleholder.
Too little, too late
Michael flips through Joan’s diary and discovers a dark secret… He realises that for the past two years, Joan has been secretly in love with him. However, it is now too late to reciprocate her feelings. Joan has passed away two days ago, after her involvement in a car accident.
Terrorist? Or not?
Andy leaves a suspicious-looking parcel under his seat and proceeds to alight the crowded train. A passenger stops Andy in his track and is surprised that he is offered a handshake. After an explanation, he realises that Andy is an official involved in an operation to raise vigilance against terrorism.
Service with a smile
After packing up his meagre belongings, Xaiver checks out of the dingy derelict hotel. Smiling as he lights a cigarette, he walks down the front steps and out into the light drizzle. Another day has begun for this professional hitman, who offers his services to those who can afford him.
A nightmare he cannot wake up from
The old grandfather clock strikes twelve and Daniel stirs in his sleep. In the distance, a dull rumbling in the overcast sky signals an impending thunderstorm. As an uninvited guest arrives on the mansion’s doorstep, Daniel wakes up with a start as a clap of thunder rings through the mansion.

I don’t know how you did it, but you managed to make the 50 word stories feel like they’re too long. There are unnecessary words added. They plod along. Several lack interesting conclusions, which is a shame since the initial premises of a couple are quite strong.
