Uncomfortable in the crowded train, Harold edges cautiously to the centre of the carriage. This is his first attempt at taking public transport. He feels as though everyone’s staring at him and he trembles in fear. Regretting his decision to overcome his fear and rejecting his mum’s offer to fetch him to school, he begins to break down.

Everyone seems to be talking about him, mocking and laughing at him. He feels oppressed, small, and cornered. “Your son is…” The doctor’s words echoed in his mind as he clings on the cold metal handle which seems more like an emotional rather than a physical support.

“Claustrophobic..” These words hit him hard as he knows that he could never live the life he used to. He can never go out with his classmates together neither by train nor bus. He is given the nickname “mummy’s boy” as his mother would have to fetch him from school every single day. Knowing he could never live with such a deficiency, he decides that from today, he shall conquer his handicap with courage and determination.
